The Yellow Pages is a household name, being ubiquitous in every home since before we were born. However, the Internet is slowly taking over their place. The Yellow Pages wants the people to know that they are still effective as opposed to their Internet driven counterparts, but of course, the online team says otherwise. In this battle between Google vs Yellow Pages, which of them is in the right? Which is really better?

Although admittedly, the Yellow Pages are here to stay, the question is, how long? There will still be users of the Yellow Pages, but how long will they survive? As long as there are people who still use the Pages, it will stay, but with the rapidly depleting number of users, the end for them is fast approaching.
People are not interested in the ins and outs of both, how they work, and other details. All they care about is getting what they need as easy and simple, and as fast as possible. With this, Google has the clear advantage. If you use a stopwatch to time how long it takes to look for an establishment using both methods, chances are Google will win every time. That is, of course, unless your Internet connection works at a snail’s pace and the establishment you are searching for is named “Aaron’s” then the Yellow Pages win there.
At any rate, Google is slowly becoming the hub for information and resources that was once the place of the Yellow Pages. If even books are threatened by technological advancements, what chance do the Yellow Pages have against the juggernaut that is Google?

Starting a new website? What are the things you would do to increase site traffic? The most important function for me is my keyword research. I need to formulate a good SEO plan that goes along with my research.
Many times, people will just put up web pages without thinking about what they are doing. When you don’t take into account how many searches are done with a certain keyword, you’re missing out on the traffic you can obtain. What kinds of people are you going after? Will it be hard to outdo the competition? Not thinking about what you’re putting up is not good. Is it a wonder you have no visitors to your website. If you take the time to write out a good plan of attack, you’ll be very successful. The reason why you have to pick targeted keywords is because you need to know what other people are searching for, but don’t pick words that are out of your realm in reference to the competition.
I’ll take more time developing the keywords than I do with any other task. Scrutinize the reason as to why someone is searching for that term. I’ll do all of this before I write one bit of content, for if I do it this way, I’ll be more successful. This is how you measure your success. Now examine the search phrases used and how many times they are searched. This will give you a good idea of how much work you have to put in to rank well for each term. Now you know how much traffic to look forward to and how long it will take to reach your goal.
It’s a straight forward plan that I use. I do the same steps every time I start a new website. Many times people will seek out advice when it comes to this and the advisor seems to leave how important the keyword research is, out. I don’t get it why something this important would be left out.
Websites are pretty straightforward and you’ll have either an ecommerce website or one that has a sales letter. The ecommerce website would be easier to come up with keywords for in my opinion. I’d go after the longer tailed keywords for the ecommerce web site. With a good plan, you’ll rank in no time flat, probably a lot faster than the sales page.
Other pages are not really that long. Sales letters comes to mind when I think of this. In order to rank high in the search engines for your sales page, you need to get into the minds of the people that will be purchasing your product. Social media websites are a good source of traffic to sales letters.
In conclusion, do the best job you can with the research tools you’re given. Now you can increase site traffic for the brand new website you are working on.
